Depending upon feedstock, EWS’ thermolysis process can produce renewable natural gas, biocoal, biochar, carbon black, diesel, and bio-oil. With additional processing, the carbon black can be upgraded into activated carbon.

Different feedstocks will produce different characteristics and qualities of carbon and oil. The table below indicates some examples of feedstocks that can be processed and the products they yield.

Manufactured Products

Notes:

  1. Each of the organic feedstocks will also render a bio-oil, however, this oil is thick and of low value until further refined

  2. In each instance where biochar is manufactured it can be further refined to create activated carbon. The activated carbon has a higher value than the biochar, however in the process of further refining the biochar, some volume of material is lost
